Try SnapshotNIR at the Desert Foot Workshop
Kent Imaging will be exhibiting and hosting a workshop at Desert Foot 2024, a conference that focuses on limb preservation and wound care. Our clinical team will be in Phoenix, Arizona providing expert education and product demonstrations outside of the workshop at Booth #14. The conference is being held at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown from Oct 30 - Nov 2.
Desert Foot combines multiple streams of expertise including the federal service wound care and surgical industry with the private sector. Part of the wound care community attending Desert Foot will be from the Veterans Administration, the VA Podiatric Residency Directors, and the Department of Defense.

SnapshotNIR could improve timely care in combat trauma
Objective data from SnapshotNIR, in the hands of a medic during combat, is potentially a very powerful game-changer in combat trauma care and soldier survivability. The rise of mobile devices is revolutionizing the way we deliver healthcare in the military.
Tools like SnapshotNIR could make a significant impact on guiding surgeons and providing insights such as adequacy of limb oxygenation for tissue healing and to guide surgical decisions about the level of amputation, if needed.
“Optimal care of our combat forces is paramount, always”, says U.S Air Force Physician and Veteran Jeffrey A. Niezgoda, MD (USAFA 1981, USUHS 1985). “The future of combat trauma care and further advancements for our highly regarded veteran population can be decidedly enhanced with cutting-edge technology like SnapshotNIR.”
Prioritizing Limb preservation for veterans
Veterans deal with increased healthcare expenses and physical impact of military service that requires high-quality long-term care. In the United States, almost a quarter of all veterans (4.4 million) return from active military careers to reside in rural communities. They can experience rural healthcare challenges that are complicated by combat-related injuries and illness and their increased risk for amputation.
Integration of surgical services and amputation prevention strategies is critical. Management of this care for veterans requires a comprehensive coordinated transdisciplinary program of services through the continuum of care.
Because wounds can be deceptive, leveraging technology like SnapshotNIR to assess tissue can help healthcare providers measure critical microvascular levels. We’ve all heard the adage ‘time is tissue’ so reducing the amount of time it takes physicians to start imaging improves the workflow and expedites effective treatment options.
delivering effective healthcare with indian health services
To provide effective and quality health delivery and efficient resource management, Indian Health Services (IHS) has prioritized innovation in care delivery through health information technology where a key part of that is in electronic health records and telehealth. This can help address preventive and treatment needs of Native Americans.
When used in rural and remote geographical areas that IHS serves, SnapshotNIR can provide physicians and surgeons with accurate point-of-care data. It’s a non-invasive tissue assessment device that can be used to triage patients earlier and expedite referrals to necessary specialties, including vascular.
CASE studies
“Through the regular use of near-infrared spectroscopy imaging in the Wound Care Clinic at the Madigan Army Medical Center, we have concluded that the oxygenation images captured with SnapshotNIR are very valuable in providing additional data and insight to evaluate the treatment plan.”
Dr. Charles Andersen, MA, FACS, MAPWCA, Chief of Wound Care Services at Madigan Army Medical Center states, “This data may be used to change the treatment plan or confirm the continuation of the current course of action. This data also supports the tracking and documentation of the wound healing progress.”
