GameChangers - How Kent Imaging is Changing the Healthcare Industry

Kent Imaging, a leader in the near-infrared spectroscopy medical device industry, was featured on the GameChangers segment of Global News in Calgary, Alberta.

Global News visited the Calgary office to experience SnapshotNIR and see where the device is developed and manufactured. The Global News team spoke with Pierre Lemire, CEO, and Sandra Jenks, VP of Global Marketing during the segment to discuss the applications of the device.

SnapshotNIR’s ability to image microvascular oxygen status in tissue anywhere on the body is comparable to an x-ray for when someone may have a bone injury. The data from Snapshot shows clinicians how much oxygen is being delivered to the injured tissue and can help answer the question, “Will this tissue heal?”

This is a game-changer since the device is portable, easy to use, and non-invasive for patients who normally would be subject to time-consuming, painful diagnostic methods. It can be used across the healthcare industry and with particularly effective use in advanced wound care, limb preservation and surgical reconstruction where recent research has proved the efficacy of the device.

If you have a wound that’s not healing, you want to find out why. The first thing you check is, does it have enough oxygen?
