Award Winning Research - New Publication wins CAMP of the Year at CAMPS Summit 2026

The Kent Imaging team is celebrating the major achievement this week of the publication “Rethinking regulatory tiers: Medicare real-world evidence shows CAMP outcomes are independent of FDA regulatory classification” being selected as the winner of the CAMP of the Year award.

We are thrilled to announce that two of our very own, Dr. Jeffrey Niezgoda, MD, FACHM, MAPWCA, CHWS, and Jennie Feight, MS, CPC, CPMA, CPC-I, were among the authors of this meaningful publication, along with a distinguished team including William H Tettelbach, MD, FACP, FIDSA, FUHM, MAPWCA, CHWS; David G Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD; Travis Tucker, MA, MBA; Thomas A Davenport, MD; Lynnette A Morrison, MD; David B Alper, DPM, FFPM RCPS; Jonathan Johnson, MD, MBA, CWSP, FAPWCA; Lee C Rogers, DPM, FFPM, RCPS; Kevin Nolan, MD, MPH, FACS; Daniel Kapp, MD; Naz Wahab, MD, FAAFP, MAPWCA; Martha R Kelso, RN, CHWS, DAPWCA, HBOT.

The award was presented during the CAMPs Summit 2026 presented by the Journal of Wound Care (JWC). The CAMPs Wound Care Summit is a premier educational event focused on Cellular, Acellular, and Matrix-like Products (CAMPs). It’s where clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders meet to discuss the latest innovations in tissue regeneration and how to better treat complex, hard-to-heal wounds.

About the Award-Winning Research

The team’s manuscript, “Rethinking regulatory tiers: Medicare real-world evidence shows CAMP outcomes are independent of FDA regulatory classification,” was selected for its scientific rigor, impact, and clarity.

The study looked at a combined total of over 3 million LEDU and VLU episodes and found that how a product is classified by the FDA doesn’t necessarily predict how well it works in the real world. Instead, the research showed that all CAMP therapies, when used alongside standard care, significantly improve patient outcomes, reducing amputations, infections, and hospital stays. The authors conclude that healthcare policy should focus more on these real patient results rather than just regulatory categories.

We are incredibly proud to have Kent Imaging leadership represented on this award-winning team.

Dr. Jeffrey A. Niezgoda, MD, FACHM, MAPWCA, CHWS, and Kent Imaging’s Chief Medical Officer of Wound Care and Limb Preservation, and a former President of both the APWCA and the ACHM. His dedication to clinical excellence is at the heart of everything we do at Kent.
