SnapshotNIR and Comprehensive Wound Care in a Clinical Setting with Dr. Jeffrey Niezgoda (VIDEO)

We have a great new in-use video to share with you all.

Wound Care Specialist, Dr. Niezgoda, is applying a Kerecis graft to a traumatic wound on a patient’s leg. Kerecis, which is intact fish skin packed with naturally occurring Omega3 fatty acids, can recruit the body's own cells to regenerate and convert into living tissue. This is a well-known treatment for burns or diabetic wounds.

The patient’s wound therapy has been tracked from the onset with Kent Imaging’s SnapshotNIR. Dr. Niezgoda was able to assess the wound and apply the best techniques for healing in part thanks to the visualization of wound oxygenation on the Snapshot medical imaging device. As Dr. Niezgoda states in the video, it is not always clear what is going on under the surface of a wound. Snapshot’s near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology penetrates the tissue and gives clinicians a more accurate picture of what is happening below the surface. Dr. Niezgoda will continue to use SnapshotNIR to track the wound and the success of the graft on a continual basis.

As you can see, the device is lightweight (only 6lbs/2.72kg) and highly portable. It’s incredibly simple to use, like snapping a photo with an ipad. Thank you to Dr. Niezgoda and team for demonstrating the innovative imaging power of SnapshotNIR.
