The role of the Medical Device Manufacturing Engineer with an electronics focus involves overseeing the integration of electronic components into medical devices during the manufacturing process. This professional is responsible for ensuring the seamless collaboration between mechanical and electronic systems, complying with regulatory standards, and optimizing manufacturing processes for efficient and high-quality production.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Electronics Integration:

  • Collaborate with the product team to integrate electronic components into SanpshotNIR.

  • Develop Manufacturing processes and procedures to comply with quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure the seamless interaction between mechanical and electronic systems during the manufacturing process.

  • Support Service and troubleshooting activities,

2.      PCB Design and Assembly:

  • Oversee the design and assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for medical devices.

  • Work closely with electronics design teams to optimize PCB layouts for manufacturability and reliability.

3.      Testing and Validation:

  • Develop and implement testing protocols for electronic components and mechanical components to ensure functionality and reliability.

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to validate electronic systems in compliance with regulatory standards.

4.      Collaboration and Communication:

  • Facilitate effective communication between mechanical and electronics engineering teams to ensure the successful integration of components.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address challenges related to the integration of electronic systems.

5.      Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about relevant regulations pertaining to both mechanical and electronic components of medical devices.

  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to ensure comprehensive compliance with industry standards.

  • Participate in supplier qualification audits.

6.      Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in both mechanical and electronic manufacturing aspects.

  • Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency of electronic assembly processes and improve product quality.

7.      Equipment and Technology:

  • Evaluate, select, and implement manufacturing equipment for electronic assembly.

  • Ensure that electronic manufacturing equipment meets quality and efficiency standards.

8.      Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of electronic assembly processes, changes, and improvements.

  • Generate reports on key performance indicators related to electronic manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.

  • Proven experience in medical device manufacturing with a focus on electronics.

  • Familiarity with PCB design and assembly processes.

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for both mechanical and electronic components.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
